Bio

Luiza Villaça is a Brazilian film director, with a degree in cinema, performing arts and a postgraduate degree in screenwriting.

A dancer and theater student throughout her childhood and adolescence, the need for expression and the arts have always been inherent to her existence.

In 2019 she makes her commercials directing debut and her first award-winning advertising film taking home 3 lions at Cannes Festival, best director award at El Ojo Festival and also at the Ciclope Latino Festival, same festival that recognized her with the Best New Talent Award.

The film that promotes “The Next Minute Law” in benefit to victims of sexual abuse in Brazil is a importantawakening of her place as a woman in position of communicate: not to fear diving, feeling and researching so stories can be told in a visceral way, always focusing in the human beings and, especially, women.

Not afraid to explore other ways to provoke people’s feelings and test the bounderies of human reactions through audiovisual, Luiza believes in all forms of communication and sees advertising as a great platform for the distribution of ideas, powerful and transformative if used with social responsibility.

With award-winning projects in advertising, short films and music videos, now the desire is to create films tobrands that want to speak beyond their products and leave a legacy.

At the same time, Luiza is in development of her first feature film.
